Teach and assess student-learning outcomes in Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) courses fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered. In collaboration with colleagues, support ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement within the context of LCCC's general education objectives and articulation requirements. Additionally, facilitate student learning outside the classroom by engaging in student activities and participating in college and community events that promote belonging, connection and student success.
- Provide inclusive, student-centered instruction for Associate Degree Nursing Programs in didactic, lab and clinical courses.
- Teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Organization of course structure and content.
- Formulation of course outlines and manual.
- Test and quiz construction and other student evaluation tools.
- Selection of textbooks and supplemental materials.
- Preparation and presentation of classroom, and clinical instruction using multiple instructional methods.
- Curriculum development and departmental planning
- Identify and secure appropriate clinical sites (with approval by the program director).
- Supervise and coordinate student learning experiences at clinical sites, ensuring students are engaged, encouraged, and equipped to apply their skills confidently.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing program and the clinical sites, fostering collaborative, respectful partnerships.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, reviews, self-studies, for accreditation and educational agencies.
- Provide guidance in student advisement and admissions process for the program.
- Engage in the development, review, and revision of program courses and policies to ensure alignment with LC’s core values.
- Assist in maintenance of program and student records.
- Participate in advisory committee meetings and activities that advance collaborative program growth.
- Support preparation of the program’s budget.
- Maintain supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for effective program operations.
- Represent the program for various institutional committees, other college departments, and external institutions.
- Participate in professional development/continuing education activities.
- Engage students in activities that foster leadership, empowerment, and meaningful involvement within their educational community.
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university required.
- Applicants must be a Registered Professional Nurse currently licensed in Illinois or Missouri. Candidates are required to obtain licensure in both states prior to their start date. Please note that the employment offer is contingent upon holding both active licenses by the first day of employment.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience as a registered nurse.
- Two years of teaching experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the community college required.
Full-time faculty base salaries are determined by education level and experience, which includes an excellent benefits package.
