THE COLLEGE - About Orange Coast College

Orange Coast College's 164-acre campus is located in Costa Mesa, just minutes from Southern California's beautiful beaches, with its main campus in Costa Mesa and a campus in Newport Beach (Waterfront Campus). Orange Coast College (OCC) was founded in 1947 with the mission to serve the educational needs of a diverse local and global community. The College empowers students to achieve their goals by providing high-quality, culturally responsive, and innovative programs and services through pathways leading to degrees, transfers, certificates, foundational skills, workforce development, and lifelong learning.

The College promotes student development, learning, and equitable outcomes by fostering a respectful, inclusive, caring, and participatory campus climate of student engagement and academic inquiry. Ideal candidates for this position will share OCC’s dedication to transforming lives through education, with a strong commitment to serving a diverse and vibrant student population. We currently enroll 18,121 students, the majority of whom are from racially minoritized populations: 39% of OCC's students are Latinx, 2% are African-American, 23% are Asian, less than 1% are Native American, 28% are White, and 6% are multiracial.

THE DEPARTMENT:
College & Community Services Department

Provides planning, organization, and implementation of activities and enterprise services sponsored by the college, including but not limited to, Swap Meet Operations, facility rentals, reprographics, mail room, and entrepreneurial-oriented services. This position supervises a staff of 18 classified employees and professional experts. The College and Community Services Supervisor is a first-line working supervisory position over enterprise and entrepreneurial services and events that are auxiliary to the core functions of the college.

The Supervisor will assemble teams of full-and-part-time staff that can deliver routine customer services, offering revenue to the college that benefits students and the community. The College and Community Services Supervisor requires training in and the ability to work with risk services, security, and first responders to ensure the safety of campus visitors due to the nature of the position and performance of these duties during weekend, evening, and/or extended hours of operation when permanent staff and students are not ordinarily present.

The position will also have limited interactions with the Recycling Center as the campus liaison to the outside entity. This position is critical as it would oversee the weekend operations and would respond to campus emergencies, closures, or evacuations on the weekends.
