Job Description

The Wright City R-II School District has an opening for a full-time process coordinator for the  school year.

Position Title: Process Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Special Education

Summary: Coordinates special education services for students with disabilities and assists general and special education staff in providing effective instructional programs through ongoing staff collaboration, training and program development and evaluation.

Job Responsibilities:

Instruction and Learning – Student achievement/performance and staff growth

  • Implements districts policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Board policies, district, state and federal laws and guidelines
  • Implements the procedures and updates manual for the Wright City School District Special Education Teacher Handbook
  • Instructs and monitors special education teacher’s paperwork for compliance of Individual Education Programs (IEP), and evaluations, including use of the Sped Track data management program
  • Serve as Local Education Agency Representative (LEA) at IEP/Individual Service Plan (ISP) meetings to assure compliance including situations where significant program resources/issues are anticipated
  • Monitors and analyzes special education discipline, including attending disability manifestation IEP meetings and monitoring Out of School Suspension (OSS) logs
  • Assists special education staff to ensure the provision of special education services, including related services, as well as working with staff to implement effective practices and strong linkages throughout the district
  • Assists in scheduling for special education students, paraprofessionals and teachers
  • Monitors special education files for compliance with State and Federal regulations and participates in Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) as needed
  • Monitors programs/students in outside placements including attending IEPs, conducting program visits and facilitating communications
  • Provide quality professional development in the use of research-based instruction/methodology, programming, Co-Teaching, IEP decision-making, data collection, meaningful goal writing, behavioral intervention, Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) or Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) preparation, post-secondary transition planning, transition between buildings, staffing, the special education process and compliance and monitor building consistency
  • Provide input to building principals and special education director for use in supervision and evaluation of special education personnel
  • Assist special education director using data to anticipate programmatic needs, support student achievement and recommend improvements
  • Collect and monitor data for reporting requirements for State reports, i.e. Core Data, December 1 Child Count, Exit Report, and MSIP process
  • Assists with technology for special education, including individual assistive devices
  • Assists special education director with interviewing special education staff
  • Assists in ordering special education materials and special education budget planning and development
  • Prepares, plans and coordinates short and long-range goals for special education
  • Attends local/regional/national conferences and workshops, in-service training, staff meetings and credit courses (when necessary) in order to keep abreast of new developments and maintain certification and/or license
  • Per Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) maintains educational records, archival of records, and destruction of records for special education
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:

Master’s degree with emphasis in special education, with preference given to Special Education Administration Certification
