The Las Lomitas Elementary School District (LLESD) serves approximately 1,200 students across two award-winning campuses:
Las Lomitas Elementary School, catering to transitional kindergarten through 3rd grade, and La Entrada Middle School for grades 4 through
8. Located in the vibrant communities of Menlo Park, Atherton, Woodside, Portola Valley, and unincorporated San Mateo County, the district is committed to academic excellence, innovative programs, and fostering strong community partnerships. Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Literacy Teacher On Special Assignment position based in San Mateo County, CA. The role involves designing and implementing literacy programs grounded in the Science of Reading to support students and educators in reaching academic goals. Responsibilities include developing instructional strategies, providing professional development for teachers, evaluating student progress, and offering targeted interventions. The candidate will collaborate with educators, administrators, and support staff to enhance literacy outcomes across the district.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge and skills in literacy instruction, curriculum development, and intervention strategies.
  • Competence in collaboration, coaching teachers, and providing professional development opportunities.
  • Proficiency in using student assessment tools, analyzing data, and crafting actionable feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for engaging with educators, students, and parents.
  • Proven ability to work in a team‑oriented environment and establish positive relationships with colleagues and the community.
  • Experience with developing and implementing literacy programs in diverse classrooms.
  • Valid teaching credential with emphasis in literacy education or related fields is required; an advanced degree in literacy, education, or related field is a plus.
