Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment for an assigned special needs program; assist teachers with the preparation of instructional materials; tutor students in assigned subject areas.

Requirements / Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    High School Diploma or High School Equivalent Certificate. Must be ESSA compliant by having one of the following:
    Associate’s Degree or;
    Completion of a minimum of 48 units at an institution of higher education or;
    Pass a local academic assessment demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics. The following are NOT required at the time of application but will be required if offered employment:
  • DOJ Fingerprint clearance
  • TB Clearance
  • Lift Test/Drug Screen clearance
Comments and Other Information

Itinerant position may require traveling from place to place. Some positions in this class may be required to possess bilingual skills in a designated second language. BENEFITS: A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
