We are seeking a passionate and hands‑on Mountain Bikeand Technologies Assistant to join our Secondary School team in a permanent position
commencing as soon as possible
. The workload is0.6927 FTE
, equivalent to working 4 days a week during the school terms only. This position consists of
Mountain Bike Assistant duties and
Technologies Assistant duties and a candidate whocan perform both is highly preferable but please apply if you areonly interested in one.
- Assist students with trail construction and coached riding,helping them build skills, confidence, and safe ridinghabits.
- Support trail design, construction, repairs, and bikemaintenance, keeping tools and equipment safe andwell‑organised.
- Help with program logistics, student supervision, andextracurricular activities, fostering a positive mountain biking culture.
- Prepare and organise tools, materials, and equipment for student use, and assist with class setup and materialcutting.
- Maintain clean, safe, and compliant technology and construction work spaces, including machinery maintenance and liaising with service providers.
- Monitor and manage stock levels, maintain accurate
Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and occasionally assist students with projects under teacher supervision. - Demonstrate a committed Christian faith, actively supporting and contributing to the Christian life of the College.
- Align with the Association’s Statement of Faith,Christian Lifestyle Statement, and educational objectives.
- Genuine mountain biking experience, a physically fit body,and an interest in building and maintaining mountain bike trails.
- Strong organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in standard computer programs (e.g.,One Note, Excel, Word).
- Competent in operating woodwork and metalwork machinery,with strong attention to detail in material preparation and equipment.
- Current Working with Children Check, Department of Education Criminal History Check, and a Manual driver’slicense (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency in Fusion 360 and AutoCAD (2D & 3D drawingprograms).
- Understanding of the Design and Technology curriculum andschool workshop environments.
- Prior experience working in a school setting or technical environment.
