Social Worker Description
The Ferguson-Florissant School District is a community of families and neighborhoods located in suburban St. Louis, MO. Fully-accredited by the state of Missouri, the district provides an excellent comprehensive educational program for nearly 10,000 students from preschool through 12th grade. The district is comprised of seven primary schools (PreK-2), six elementary schools (3-5), two sixth grade centers, two middle schools (7-8), two high schools and one alternative school as well as a nationally-recognized early education program, the PROBE gifted education program, the award-winning Challenger Learning Center, Little Creek Nature Area, the Innovation School at Cool Valley, a STEAM middle school and a STEAM high school.

The Social Worker serves as a liaison for teachers, administrators, parents, and students between school, home, and community agencies. The primary goal is to support the emotional and social development of students by facilitating access to services and strategies that enhance learning and personal success. Focus includes both prevention and correction.

Terms:
This is a 10-month (187-day), at-will position. Compensation is based on the allocation of funds in alignment to the District Title IA Plan. Continued employment is subject to annual evaluation in alignment with this job description and is contingent upon the annual allocation of federal funding for the position.
FLSA: Exempt
Retirement : PEERS
Salary: Minimum $43,000 per year, based on education, experience, and certifications
Calendar: 10-month contract (August-May)
EDUCATION AND/OR
EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in Social Work required
- Demonstrated practicum or on-the-job experience in social services or counseling required
- Experience partnering with community agencies and securing resources required
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
- Active CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification (or willingness to complete CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training)
required - Active driver’s license and reliable transportation required
