Security GCR Summer School

• Supervisor: Director of School Safety and Security

• Internal Candidates Only.
• Current status as a Security Worker.
• Must hold current registration as Security Guard with New York State Department of State.
• Must be available to work the entire summer session.
• July 9 (7‑hr day for staff only).
• July 13 – August 17 (RSS/CRSS Classes; no classes on Fridays 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14).
• August 18 – August 19 (Regents Exams).

• Must be able to operate metal detectors and baggage scanning devices.
• CPR/AED certification or willingness to be certified.
• Previous work experience with students K‑12.
• Ability to work with groups of students, staff and public.
• Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
• Willingness to work an alternate work day schedule as required to support the educational program needs.

• Provides security for the school building and enforces security and smoking regulations.
• Works collaboratively with other safety team members to take action on the discipline and behavior problems of students within the school building.
• Builds relationships with students to facilitate student academic and social success.
• Works collaboratively with other security staff to quickly resolve any problems involving student safety.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
