Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self‑help, social and community skills.
Requirements / Qualifications- Education & Experience:
Graduation from high school and some experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. - Certificates & Degrees:
Requires the SCOE Para Proficiency Test certificate. Substitutions accepted: NCLB/ESSA Test certificate from Stanislaus County, CBEST, or transcripts showing a minimum of 48 college units, or an AA degree or higher (transcripts may be unofficial). Attach a copy to your application. - DOJ Fingerprint clearance (required if offered employment).
- TB Clearance (required if offered employment).
- Lift Test/Drug Screen clearance (required if offered employment).
A benefit entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day. Must be at least 18 years of age.
