Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom, monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.
Qualifications
- EDJOIN APPLICATION. MUST BE ESSA COMPLIANT BY HAVING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
Associate’s degree OR Completion or a minimum of 48 units at an institution of higher education by attaching transcripts OR Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate: proof of passing a locally approved assessment that measures the ability to assist in instruction. Examples include the CBEST, ParaPRO, or a District-administered NCLB/ESSA Paraprofessional proficiency exam. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements but require a Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate will receive an email invitation to attend a testing session with SCOE.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. Must be at least 18 years of age. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS:

Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance, TB clearance, and Required Trainings.
Benefits
BENEFITS: A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
