The successful candidate will join a college dedicated to the students it serves.
- Provide comprehensive counseling services to students, including academic, career, personal and life transitions counseling;
- Assist and collaborate in developing student support services;
- Assist in the organization and implementation of matriculation activities, such as orientation, counseling and follow-up services to students;
- Assist students with major selection, developing student education plans (SEPs), aligned with their educational goals and career pathways;
- Assist with the development and implementation of the Guided Pathways, and the Student Equity Achievement (SEA), and other student success initiatives;
- Work collaboratively with instructional faculty, staff, and administrators in the development of student success initiatives and provision of counseling in support of guided pathways and other programs, including but not limited to first year experience programs;
- Assist, as needed, with articulation, student outreach, and recruitment activities;
- Provide assistance and referrals to on/off campus resources and student support services including Admissions & Records, EOPS, CalWORKs, Career/Transfer & Employment Center, DSP&S, Financial Aid, Academic Success Centers, TRiO, and off‑campus community resources;
- Participate in meetings, conferences, trainings, and other professional development activities to maintain the expertise required to provide accurate and reliable information and support to students seeking to complete a certificate, associate degree, or transfer;
