Requirements / Qualifications- ESSA compliant: hold an Associate’s degree or have completed at least 48 units at an institution of higher education (attach transcripts) or possess a Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate (CBEST, ParaPRO, or a district-administered exam). Applicants needing a certificate will receive an email invitation to attend a testing session with SCOE.
- Education & Experience:
any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. - Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Additional documents (required prior to employment):
Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance, TB clearance, and required trainings.
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom, monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self‑help, social, and community skills.
BenefitsA benefit entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
