Position Summary
The faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position;
assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of a full-time faculty member.
Continuous curricula improvement to maintain a strong and diverse program;
Usage of current teaching methodologies, techniques, and tools, particularly those employing technology;
Active involvement in program evaluation and curriculum development;
Community outreach to high schools;
The development of internship and work experience opportunities;
The incorporation of current accounting and business technology, including the use of specialized software, as well as the use of computer lab components for some classes;
Collegial collaboration among faculty;
Respect for students and facilitation of student success;
And introducing students and the community to careers in accounting. The curriculum consists of transfer-level, vocational, and upper-level courses which allow students to transfer to a four-year university, obtain a job or job promotion in the workplace, and pursue licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Further, the department teaches courses for various industry partners, which can include those that are part of an apprenticeship program.

Minimum QualificationsMaster's in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration OR Bachelor's in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis AND Master's in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, finance or the equivalent. (
NOTE
: A bachelor's degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a CPA license is an alternative qualification for this discipline.) All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by August 20, 2026.
