District-Wide Psychological Examiner & 504 Coordinator

Position Summary

The District-Wide Psychological Examiner & 504 Coordinator provides comprehensive psychological evaluation services for students across the North Callaway R-1 School District while coordinating and overseeing all Section 504 processes district-wide. This position ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, supports data-driven decision-making, and collaborates with administrators, teachers, families, and support staff to promote equitable access to educational opportunities and positive student outcomes.

Duties And Responsibilities Psychological Examiner Responsibilities
  • Conduct psycho educational evaluations to determine student eligibility for special education services in accordance with IDEA, Missouri DESE guidelines, and district procedures.
  • Select, administer, score, and interpret appropriate assessment instruments related to cognition, academic achievement, social-emotional functioning, and behavior.
  • Prepare clear, timely, and legally compliant evaluation reports.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluation teams and IEP meetings, providing professional interpretation of assessment data and recommendations.
  • Consult with administrators, teachers, and support staff regarding student learning, behavior, and instructional interventions.
  • Assist with problem-solving, MTSS processes, and data review as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
504 Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Serve as the district's Section 504 Coordinator, ensuring consistent implementation across all buildings.
  • Oversee identification, evaluation, eligibility determination, and accommodation planning for students qualifying under Section 504.
  • Develop, monitor, and review 504 Plans to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on Section 504 requirements, procedures, and accommodations.
  • Act as a liaison between families, administrators, and staff regarding 504 concerns and procedural safeguards.
  • Ensure district compliance with federal Section 504 regulations and respond to related inquiries or complaints.
Compliance, Collaboration, and Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and district policies.
  • Collaborate with building administrators to support student services and problem-solving efforts.
  • Assist in developing and revising district procedures related to evaluation, special education, and 504 services.
  • Stay current on best practices, legal updates, and professional standards related to school psychology and student accommodations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or Superintendent.
Qualifications
  • Master's or Specialist degree in School Psychology or related field.
  • Missouri certification as a Psychological Examiner or eligibility for certification.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education evaluation procedures.
  • Strong assessment, data analysis, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, families, and administrators.
