Job Summary:
Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM) seeks a Director to partner with the Associate Dean for Education and Academic Affairs (ADEAA) in documenting continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, developing processes for monitoring accreditation compliance, and overseeing the preparation and timely submission of Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) requirements. The Director reports directly to the XOCOM ADEAA.
About XOCOM
In February 2024, the Xavier University of Louisiana Board of Trustees and the Ochsner Health Board of Directors approved the partnership to develop XOCOM, the fifth allopathic Historically Black College and University (HBCU) medical school. Xavier University of Louisiana is a leader in STEM and health science, producing more African American students who graduate from medical school each year than any other university in the country.
Ochsner Health, Louisiana’s largest academic health system, is committed to exceptional patient‑centered care and operates 46 hospitals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience in CQI and/or institutional or programmatic accreditation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or higher).
- Seven years of experience in CQI and LCME accreditation.

- Knowledge of LCME and SACSCOC accreditation standards, assessment practices and methods in medical education.
- Demonstrated leadership success in academia and administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the medical school LCME and HLC accreditation processes, including preparation, submission, and management of accreditation documents.
- Serve as the primary institutional contact for all relevant accreditors and regulatory authorities.
- Lead and manage the self‑study process by coordinating the collection of survey data and materials, synthesizing narrative responses, leading training sessions, and developing the survey visit schedule.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive CQI program to ensure accreditation compliance and enhance the quality of educational programs.
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and administrative leaders to ensure all relevant processes and outcomes meet LCME accreditation requirements.
- Compile, analyze, and synthesize data related to accreditation and quality improvement.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and external stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of accreditation standards and CQI principles.
- Manage the institutional policy lifecycle process.
- Regularly communicate progress on accreditation and CQI initiatives to stakeholders, including preparing reports and presentations.
