Yuba Community College District is accepting qualified applicants for temporary, part‑time teaching assignments. Positions are filled based on departmental needs and are ongoing recruitments. Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Physical Sciences, Geography, or Geology courses up to 10 hours per week.
  • Organize and teach all levels of Physical Sciences, Geography, or Geology classes.
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, including distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
  • Assess student learning outcomes each semester.
  • Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired.

REQUIRED DUTIES:

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications by the final filing date:

  • Master’s in geography OR
  • Bachelor’s in geography AND
  • Master’s in geology, history, meteorology, or oceanography OR the equivalent OR Interdisciplinary Studies.

Desired/

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference may be given to candidates with lived experience or teaching experience that demonstrates the ability to teach Physical Sciences, Geography, or Geology to community college students.
