About the RoleAs a Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

- Schedule:
to be discussed with the family - Pay range: $30-$45/hr
- Proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language) – required
- Experience working with adults or individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Understanding of adaptive learning methods and visual teaching strategies
- Background or interest in music (e.g., singing, guitar, drums) – strongly preferred
- Patient, engaging, and able to adapt lessons based on physical and cognitive needs
- Develop and implement individualized learning activities focused on reading, writing, speech, and communication.
- Use American Sign Language (ASL) to support language development and daily communication.
- Incorporate music and rhythm into learning activities, using the student’s interest in instruments and singing to support engagement.
- Utilize visual aids, labels, and hands‑on activities to reinforce learning concepts and routines.
- Adapt teaching strategies based on the learner’s physical mobility, cognitive profile, and personal interests.
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and patient learning environment that encourages confidence and self‑expression.
- Encourage the development of fine motor skills and self‑directed communication techniques.
- Support exploration of musical instruments (e.g., guitar, drums) in an educational and enjoyable way.
- Track progress informally and provide regular feedback to the family/caregiver.
- Collaborate with caregivers to align on learning goals, tools, and approaches.
- Maintain a consistent schedule and arrive prepared with lesson materials and adaptive tools as needed.
