Pay RangeBase pay range at Santa Barbara County Education Office: $44.31/hr - $51.06/hr your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience, pending conversation with recruiter.
ResponsibilitiesFacilitates communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and teachers, staff, and peers within an educational environment, using manual and verbal communication systems. Provides access to educational experiences throughout the school day, using sign‑to‑English and English‑to‑sign skills, and applies Level 4 certification and competency.
RequirementsEducation:
Associate’s degree in American Sign Language Interpreting, Deaf Studies, Deaf Education, or related field preferred.
Experience:
At least one year of instructional support in an educational setting preferred.
Certified: $44.31 - $51.06 per hour (hiring range; current top step $57.56 per hour)
Waiver: $40.56 - $46.75 per hour (hiring range; current top step $52.70 per hour)
