Job Summary

Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a full-time, highly motivated BC/BE Clinical Electrophysiologist to join our nationally recognized, high-volume practice at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) in Danville, Pennsylvania.

Job Duties

The ideal candidate will join a robust EP team including three experienced EP physicians, dedicated cardiology and EP fellows, advanced providers and nurse navigators in a collegial, multi-disciplinary academic environment. You will participate in both inpatient and outpatient care in three dedicated EP labs and a 26 bed pre/post procedure unit, supported by a fully equipped device clinic and advanced imaging resources.

In our institute model, you will collaborate with a high-volume CT surgery service devoted to advanced procedures, including LVAD implantation, and a thriving heart failure program.

GMC’s EP center performs the full spectrum of EP procedures including, over 800 advanced ablations for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, complex epicardial VT ablations, surgical sympathectomy, over 500 CIED device implementation, conduction system pacing, and left atrial appendage closure. The center serves as a regional and national referral center for complex arrhythmia management.

You will work directly with EP and Cardiology fellows on clinical teaching, didactics, and case-based education. Faculty appointments and clinical or translational research opportunities are available.

Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute spans a 45-county service area and has over 100 physicians and more than 75 advanced practitioners. This team provides care in 5 acute care tertiary/qua ternary hospitals, 4 community hospitals, and numerous outreach locations. Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute features multiple accredited chest pain centers, a nationally recognized regional STEMI PCI network, complex arrhythmia ablation, a full range of coronary, vascular and structural heart interventions and an advanced heart failure program.

The multidisciplinary team members of the Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute participate in outcomes and population-based research through the Geisinger Center for Health Research; molecular, cellular and genomics research at the Siegfried and Janet Weis Center for Health Research; and trials of new drugs, devices and techniques through the Geisinger Center for Clinical Studies. The Institute serves as an educational venue for five cardiology fellows per year and advanced fourth-year cardiology fellows, an annual Cardiology Symposium and frequent CME lectures.
