• Surgically recover abdominal (liver, kidney, pancreas, and small bowel) organs for transplantation and research in donor hospitals throughout the service area.
• Assume on-call responsibilities as required to ensure adequate coverage for donor activity and be available to recover organs at the specified time.
• Support compliance with CMS, UNOS regulations, AOPO standards, and other medical/legal requirements.
• Provide education and training to OPO staff and hospital personnel involved in the donation process.
• Serve as an advisor between the organization and hospital staff during organ procurement.

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified in general surgery with a current license.
• 5+ years of experience in organ recovery, transplantation, or critical care.
• Availability for weekdays and weekends for donor recovery call (number of days to be determined).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• First dose of COVID-19 vaccine or proof of vaccination required by start date.
