Overview
Solano County is seeking Psychiatrists to join the Behavioral Health Division.
Solano County Behavioral Health provides mental health services that are person-centered, safe, effective, efficient, timely and equitable, and promote wellness and recovery. Services are delivered in an integrated health care environment across three outpatient clinics located in Vallejo, Fairfield, and Vacaville.

The Position- Regular Monday through Friday hours
- On-call time is not required; 24/7 crisis services are provided through a contracted Crisis Stabilization Unit
- Flexible schedules available
- Clinic Psychiatrists typically schedule patients for 6.5 hours of an 8-hour workday, with some unscheduled time for documentation and calls
- Administrative support is provided; psychiatrists are expected to complete documentation in the electronic health record
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses, develop and monitor treatment plans including psychotropic medications, support services for outpatient clients, and contribute as a psychiatric resource in interdisciplinary teams
Special note: psychiatrists may receive training; the department emphasizes efficient documentation and collaboration with PA/NP colleagues.

Education and Experience- Successful completion of a three- or four-year ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency
- Legal authorization to practice medicine in California (valid license as a physician and surgeon)
- Board Certified Psychiatrist: valid certification by the American Board of Psychiatry
Possession of a valid driver s license may be required. Proof of vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required. A medical degree and a valid California medical license are required. Applicants should submit degree or transcripts by the deadline; proof must be submitted prior to appointment.
Selection Process and TimelinesDeadlines for application submissions for next review: 01/27/2025, 02/27/2025, 03/24/2025, and 09/04/2025. The qualified applicants will be invited for further examinations, possibly including screenings, written/practical exams, or oral exams.
