Associate Professor of Neurology

The USC Keck School of Medicine, Department of Neurology, is seeking to fill one position in our 2 year ACGME & UCNS Accredited Neurocritical Care Fellowship starting July 1, 2026. The total complement of the fellowship is 4 fellows; 2 second year and 2 first year fellows.

The program has been accredited by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS) since 2013, and by the American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) since 2023. The fellowship is a 1-2 year program housed within the USC Department of Neurology and is designed to provide a foundation upon which fellows are trained to identify and treat neurological emergencies as the primary treating physician.

Fellows receive training at two hospitals:
Keck Hospital of USC and Los Angeles General Medical Center. This provides a wide range of clinical experience from the private setting to a Level 1 trauma center.

The program provides instruction and upfront management of acute ischemic stroke, status epilepticus, TBI, ICH, SAH, neuromuscular emergencies, encephalitis, and general critical care.

As well as interpretation of continuous EEG and TCDs, and bedside ultrasound

The training program exposes the fellows to a wide variety of critical care disciplines including Trauma ICU, Surgical Critical Care, Anesthesia Critical Care, Medical ICU, and Cardiothoracic ICU. This ensures a well-rounded education that enables the graduate to practice in a variety of institutions.

REQUIREMENTS/ DETAILS
:

- Fellows entering at the NCC-1 level must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency program in anesthesiology, child neurology, emergency medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, or neurology.
