About The Role:

A leading design studio with a global reputation for creating immersive, narrative-driven experiences is seeking a Lead Exhibition Interior Designer to join their team. Known for seamlessly integrating architecture, exhibition design, and visitor experience, this firm approaches every project with creativity, technical rigor, and a commitment to storytelling through physical spaces.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, multidisciplinary projects ranging from exhibitions to immersive environments, collaborating with visual designers, content specialists, consultants, and clients. The role is remote for U.S.

-based candidates, offering flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with the New York–based team. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, self-directed professional who combines conceptual design sensitivity with hands‑on technical expertise and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the physical design of complex projects, including exhibitions, galleries, and immersive environments, from concept through construction documentation
  • Develop and refine gallery schemes, drawing sets, material specifications, and schedules
  • Lead client presentations, workshops, and design discussions
  • Collaborate with project management to monitor budgets, schedules, and staffing
  • Establish workflows, drawing protocols, and design standards for the team
  • Assign and coordinate design tasks, mentoring junior designers and overseeing their work
  • Ensure design intent is fully realized in collaboration with architects, engineers, consultants, and fabricators
  • Contribute to the creative development of cohesive, engaging visitor experiences

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in exhibition, architectural, or interior design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
  • Degree in Exhibit Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
  • Proven track record of leading at least 3 full-scale exhibition projects from concept through delivery
  • Hands‑on expertise in detailing, production, and construction documentation
  • Familiarity with international project standards, including HOAS/HOAI scopes of work
  • Advanced proficiency with Vectorworks and/or Revit (BIM 360 experience a plus); skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Experience creating 3D models in Rhino or Sketch Up; strong visualization skills and Adobe Creative Suite proficiency preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Comfortable working remotely or on‑site, with flexibility for client meetings and occasional travel
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
