There is a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $15.05 per hour for the Dental Assistant 2 title
With an additional $2.25 per hour worked available for candidates that hold a current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification and/or additional $1.50 for EDDA certification (Expanded Dental Duty Dental Assistant).
Pre‑employment drug testing and criminal background check are required.
This position will require the selected applicant to be in a probationary status for at least 6 months.

Position SummaryTo provide chair side assistance to a licensed dentist and to instruct and assist dental students in four‑handed dentistry.
The employee will provide chair side assistance to dentists and dental students in a variety of specialties which include but are not limited to Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, Pedodontics, Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics. The employee will work under the general supervision of the dental assistant supervisor in the sophomore, junior and senior clinic, General Practice Residency Program and the Emergency Dental Clinic at the LSUHSC School of Dentistry.
