Communications Supervisor; Information Officer II

Are you ready to step into a leadership role as a communications strategist and supervisor, overseeing complex, sensitive, and high-profile communication projects? The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety is seeking a Communications Supervisor (Information Officer II) based in Sacramento to lead the planning, development, and direction of internal and external communications efforts, including:

• Communications Leadership and Strategy
• Digital Media, Website, Photography, Videography, and Social Media Oversight
• Media Relations & External Engagement
• Program Oversight, Policy Development &Training
• Experience leading or supervising a communications, public affairs, or digital media team.
• Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to translate technical information into clear, accessible content.
• Advanced proficiency in photography, videography, lighting, audio capture, and post-production editing using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience managing high-profile or sensitive communication issues requiring sound judgment and political awareness.
• Experience developing and implementing social media strategies, including content planning and analytics.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience developing communication policies, style guides, or standard operating procedures.
• Experience providing training, coaching, or quality oversight to staff producing written, visual, or digital content.

• Pattern I: Two years of experience in the California state service performing duties equivalent to those of an Information Officer I.
  OR
• Pattern II: Experience:
  
  Broad and successful experience which has demonstrated the ability to plan and direct a comprehensive public information program. This must have included at least five years' professional experience in preparing and disseminating information, a substantial part of which also included supervising the writing of others. Writing experience, while an integral part of the above, will not be considered qualifying in itself.
  
  AND
• Education: Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
