The Driver - Explosives delivers explosive materials to the relevant Orica manufacturing plant, Orica customer service depot or Customer Site (on‑site magazine). This may include operation, maintenance and upkeep of the delivery vehicle in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times and in line with approved standards and procedures.

• Contribute to our safety culture by wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”), keeping safety guards on equipment in place, using equipment safely, and looking out for the other members on your team
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment and securing the job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
• Load and unload trucks
• Assist other team members when necessary
• Start early in the morning depending on clients’ needs
• Daily schedule averages 12 hrs a day, overtime daily after 8.5 hr
• Monday to Friday, Weekends off
• Long days out in all types of weather, with big rewards at the end of the day

• 1 or more years of experience in a construction position required
• Mining, Quarry & Construction experience a PLUS!
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used on construction jobs
• Previous experience in commercial construction jobs
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule
• Must be prompt and committed to doing great work
• Must be self‑motivated and can work well with others
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move up to seventy (70) pounds
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• One year related work experience preferred
• Must obtain a DZ driver’s license within a year of employment

Compensation

Hourly rate: $29.17
