Location: California
PACIFIC is seeking multiple Safety Managers for Los Angeles for LAWA projects (Different Levels)
Require CHST or CSP or similar certification.

- 1. Work with Contractor Safety Team, LAWA Inspection Team, Project Management Team, and others in order to ensure assigned projects are implementing effective safety programs.
- 2. Walk all assigned projects on a regular basis and possibly multiple times daily which can total a few miles a day.
- 3. Engage with the LAWA TDG Safety platform to perform Task Hazard Analysis audits and report safety observations.
- 4. Meet with LAWA Inspectors and other stakeholders regarding safety concerns and follow-up actions taken by the contractor.
- 5. Review written Safety Plans and verify results of safety performance and compliance in the field on an ongoing basis to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation.
- 6. Assist the Project/Construction Manager to verify that contractors comply with written documentation requirements including weekly "toolbox" meetings, new employee orientation, daily safety inspection reports, any accident/incident and related investigation reports, provision of "competent" or authorized persons documentation including training records and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).
- 7. Be self‑motivated individual who can research pertinent requirements not readily available.
- 8. Attend Project Progress and Project Safety Committee meetings as directed by the Program Safety Manager to monitor the ongoing safety effort of the Construction Manager and contractor.
- 9. Attend and participated in Construction Safety Advisory Council Meetings, as directed by the Program Safety Manager.
- 10. Ability to write clear and effective reports.
- 11. Attend and participate in the Monthly All‐Hands Safety Meeting to discuss general program safety concerns and successes as well as present updates and information on safety regulations and requirements including a monthly training program component on relevant safety subject matter.
- 12. Coordinate with management to promote the proactive and behavior‑based TDG Safety Program both internally and externally (e.g., National Safety Council, trade and professional organizations, etc.) and to bring positive publicity to the program and TDG.
- 13. Contribute to the advancement of TDG’s goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders.
- 14. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize competing responsibilities.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A valid Driver’s License and compliance with PACIFIC’s Vehicle Policy
- Proficiency with common Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files)
- Pre‑employment drug test. Also, subject to drug and alcohol testing during the course of employment in accordance with PACIFIC’s Drug, Alcohol and Illegal Items Policy
- 3+ References from Clients
- Flexibility to work alternative shifts including weekends and nights
- Effective with personal time management and multi‑tasking
- Ability to work in outdoor field construction sites, and office include sitting for periods of time.
- Have general knowledge of code requirements
- Knowledge of industry safety practices and OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to write reports and memos
- Capable to work with common Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files)
- Minimum Education Level
:
High school diploma (or equivalent). - Professional Licenses & Certification

The Assistant Safety Manager II must at a minimum have an active Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) credential. The Assistant Safety Manager II may also be required to be a California OSHA 10/30 instructor and a CPR/1st Aid instructor. - Minimum Years and Experience

Five years of experience providing safety oversight on vertical, tunnel or heavy civil construction type projects.
