Location: Fort Leonard Wood
Overview
This position is located at Child Development Center (CDC) 408 at Fort Leonard Wood. Morale Welfare and Recreation Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee
: must work at least 15 hours per week.
- First Child
: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) - Second and Subsequent Child
: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)
Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will not be paid.
- Serves as a Child and Youth Services (CYS) Assistant Director of a CYS Program with responsibility for assisting the supervisor in the operation of an assigned CYS program IAW all applicable regulations and standards.
- Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of assigned staff and the safety and well being of children and youth IAW DoD, Army and local policies and standards.
- Assists in maintaining DoD/Army certification for assigned program areas, and helps ensure program achieves and retains national accreditation or Army equivalent and maintains accreditation/Army equivalent standards.
- Provides appropriate staff recognition and/or disciplinary action. Conducts written observations of staff during all hours of operation, and evaluates employees based on established performance standards.
- Works cooperatively with other CYS Managers to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality options for all children and youth. Serves as a member of the CYS Program Plan Team to develop written strategies for program improvement.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.
2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. - The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.
- Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
- Travel to on and off post locations required.
- Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy to include annual influenza vaccinations.
- Proof of education is required at the time of application.
