Camp Counselor

The Maryland Heights Parks and Recreation Department has an opening for seasonal employment for Camp Counselors. The Camp Counselor will have day-to-day responsibility to provide a safe and fun Summer Camp experience for our campers.

Camp Counselors will work an average of 30 to 40 hours per week during the day Monday-Friday. The starting pay rate for this position is $15.40 per hour. Must be available to work the length of the camp season (June through mid-August) and preseason training.

• Plans, organizes, and implements recreational activities, camp games, and crafts for the youth summer camp in a positive, energetic, and cooperative manner.
• Assist and demonstrate a variety of athletic, educational and artistic skills in youth programs.
• Supervise participants to ensure facility policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Dress according to dress code in appropriate attire.
• Pick up trash and debris.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Organizational skills.

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• St. Louis County Background Check and Drug Test.
