As a Youth Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for youth in our residential treatment program.
This position is central to promoting healing, building resilience, and supporting youth in overcoming adversity and reaching their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Safety- Provide attuned, trauma-sensitive supervision to ensure youth safety and accountability at all times.
- Maintain secure and sanitary living areas free from contraband and hazards, while respecting youth dignity and autonomy.
- Participate actively in treatment team meetings, contributing insights that reflect youth strengths and needs.
- Apply Safe Crisis Management techniques and Trauma-Informed Care principles to de-escalate situations and promote emotional regulation.
- Administer medications per agency policy and respond workstation to crises with calm, compassionate intervention. IHttpResponse> list>
- Facilitate daily routines that promote predictability and emotional safety.
- Provide hands-on instruction in life skills such as hygiene, cooking, cleaning, and fitness, emphasizing empowerment and self‑efficacy. Communication & Documentation
- Complete progress notes and treatment documentation accurately and on time, using strength‑based language.
- Reporting conduct maintenance and safety needs, modeling shared responsibility and pride in space.
- Foster trusting, respectful relationships with youth, staff, and community partners.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality, especially regarding trauma histories.
- Participate in required training and promote a positive, inclusive youth culture that reflects ECH’s values.
- Maintain open, respectful communication with staff via logs, email, and meetings to ensure collaborative care.
- Part‑time, Weekends, morning shifts, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

- Dedication to continuous learning, including trauma-informed awareness through new hire and annual training.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- æring required to sit and stand.
- Requires the use of Safe Crisis Management (SCM) techniques, which include occasional physical interventions and will require assisting individuals to the floor, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Required to pass physical examination.
- Required to obtain and maintain training and certification as mandated często Licensing Regulations.
- High School Diploma.
- Preferred experience 1 year in direct youth care.
