Farmers can lose the majority of their crops without pest control. At the same time, there are concerns about the toxicity and environmental impact of traditional chemical controls. These concerns have led to regulation and outright bans on specific pesticides around the globe. Farmers and society demand climate- and eco-friendly alternatives to control pests.

Our company, Pheronym, turned to nature to win the battle against pests. We chose pheromones, communication signals, to protect our crops. Pheronym uses nematode pheromones to control agricultural pests, providing climate-friendly alternatives to soil fumigants and improving soil health. In other words, Pheronym enables farmers to control pests in the soil using climate- and eco-friendly solutions.

As undergraduate interns at Pheronym, students will learn valuable business and administrative skills to help them develop professionally. These skills include primary and secondary market research, developing questionnaires, scheduling meetings and interviews, taking notes during meetings and interviews, compiling and analyzing data, determining market opportunities, creatingsales materials, creating slide decks and pitch decks. Additionally, students will learn to review market research reports and devise research plans to develop critical thinking, data collection, analysis, and visualization skills.

To be successful as a business and administrative intern, you should have excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. You should also be eager to learn new things and collaborate with others. You should have a basic knowledge of office software and equipment.

• Degree focus in accounting, business, business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, marketing,or related field
• Interest in biotechnology and research
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be comfortable working on a computer
• Attention to detail and accuracy

• In person internship is located in Woodland, CA.
• Part-time flexible hours up to 20 hours per week
