We are looking for an Operations Executive to join our Tankers team in Singapore to provide broker support. You will work alongside our experienced Brokers and carry out various tasks as outlined in the description below. The ideal candidate will have an interest in shipping, be hard‑working and self‑motivated with a flexible and proactive approach, and able to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic broking environment.
Summary
The main purpose of an Operations Executive is to support the efforts of the shipbrokers. Your role requires operational and administrative services, working closely with the Charterers/Owners and Brokers to ensure timely facilitation of information, paying close attention to shipping operational details in order to manage effective collaboration among all parties involved.
What you will be doing- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the shipping process, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of vessels
- Handle client/operators’ communications, addressing enquiries, resolving issues and providing exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with internal team to ensure smooth operations and streamline processes
- Learning and understanding shipping documents, BIMCO terms/clauses, hire statements & statement of facts
- Understanding of typical Tanker contracts, demurrage/claims calculations
- Maintain detailed records and prepare reports on shipping activities when assigned by clients/brokers.
- Consult our Brokers in anticipation of possible operational matters
- Other ad‑hoc operations duties as and when assigned
- At least 5 years' Operations and Claims experience with a shipping company
- Possesses at least a Diploma
- An excellent command of English and Mandarin (written and verbal) is required to liaise with clients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with operators
- Detail‑oriented and organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Hands‑on with a positive attitude
- Strong team player & able to work independently
- Flexible in the workplace, and willing to work outside regular office hours, if required
- Confident and friendly personality
- Strong desire to build and develop one’s career in Shipping Operations
