Job Summary:The Contract Project Manager serves as a liaison between internal stakeholders (sales, consulting, project management, finance/analytics, and legal) and external partners (clients, brokers, PBMs, carriers, and vendors). This role is directly responsible for contract lifecycle management across PBM and consulting engagements— supporting RFP-to-contract workflows, drafting and redlining contract terms, coordinating negotiation cycles, ensuring compliant execution, and maintaining rigorous document governance and version control.
This position is accountable for maintaining timelines and deliverables associated with contract development and execution, establishing best practices for document/resource preservation, and ensuring contractual alignment with client requirements and internal policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Contract Lifecycle Management. Manage end-to-end contracting for PBM coalition/client agreements and consulting agreements, including drafting, redlining, negotiation coordination, and routing for approvals/signature.RFP-to-Contract Support & Coordination. Support the contracting phases tied to RFP work and keep leadership fully informed of important activities, risks, and open negotiation issues during RFP/contract cycles.Cross-Functional & External Stakeholder Liaison. Liaise between clients, brokers, PBMs, carriers, and internal legal/operations teams to independently resolve contracting issues tied to specific client requirements.Compliance, Quality Control, and Risk Management. Quality-check contract documents for completeness, accuracy, and alignment to internal guidelines/policies prior to execution.Document Governance, Systems, and Reporting. Maintain dashboards/trackers for contract status, renewals, amendments, and signature completion to ensure on-time execution.Present a positive image of self and of VPS / NFP, in and out of the office.Minimum Requirements for Education, Experience, and Certifications/Licenses:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.Prefer 3-5 years’ experience in PBM or related industry experience in contract management.Qualifications & Skills:Thorough knowledge of employee benefits and PBM contracting concepts; ability to interpret policies, proposals, and contract documents.Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to coordinate among multiple stakeholders and manage escalations professionally.Ability to effectively present information to insured clients and their respective carriers.Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as percentages, adding, subtracting, multiplying and division to required tasks.High degree of critical thinking, organizational and decision-making skills.High degree of initiative.High degree of attention to detail.Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet objectives and deadlines established by supervisor and clients, often with short turnaround times.Ability to maintain positive and beneficial relationships with department staff, numerous internal departments, external customers, agents, and subscribers.Proficient in MS Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Ability to comply with company confidentiality requirements as well as with HIPAA and other applicable government regulations.Travel:
This position does not require overnight trips.
