BILL is seeking a Director of Alliance Partnerships to build and lead our alliances strategy. This role will establish the foundational programs, frameworks, and operating systems needed to scale a high‑impact partner motion across the company. You will report directly to the VP of Sales and work hands‑on to design, launch, and optimize the alliance partnerships function.
Make Your Impact Within a Rapidly Growing Fintech Company- Establish the end-to-end partnerships strategy and operational frameworks (program design, governance, workflows, and measurement).
- Build and deepen relationships with key alliance partners; define joint value propositions, success plans, and executive alignment.
- Support repeatable processes for partner recruitment, onboarding, enablement, pipeline generation, and lifecycle management.
- Drive cross‑functional execution with Sales, Marketing, Product, Rev Ops, Legal, and Finance to deliver partner‑sourced and partner‑influenced outcomes.
- Own foundational work directly (zero‑to‑one execution) while setting the stage for scale; document and instrument processes and cadences.
- Define KPIs and dashboards to measure program health (e.g., partner‑sourced pipeline, influenced revenue, activation/enablement milestones, time‑to‑first‑opportunity).
- Represent BILL with external partners as a trusted, strategic leader; bring market and partner insights back to inform GTM and product roadmaps.
- Meet or exceed partner qualified lead volume through partner expansion, new partner acquisition, and creative channel development.
- As the function scales, help shape team structure and operating rhythms; mentor and develop talent.
- 8+ years of experience with proven leadership capabilities and a track record of building new programs from scratch.
- Strong up‑market sales background with a deep understanding of complex B2B relationships and multi‑stakeholder enterprise motions.
- Demonstrated ability to create frameworks, processes, and systems—not just manage existing ones.
- Hands‑on, strategic leadership style with a bias for action and ownership of foundational work.
- Excellent executive presence and communication skills; able to align internal and external stakeholders on shared goals.
- Prior alliances or partnerships experience preferred. Direct sales experience is required.
- Track record of developing scalable business processes and enabling cross‑functional teams.
- Experience working with enterprise‑level clients and stakeholders; comfort navigating ambiguity in high‑growth environments.
- Experience working within accounting software or an ERP ecosystem not required but preferred.
This role is eligible to participate in BILL’s sales incentive and equity plans. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
