Overview

The Activity Coordinator position is the heart of our summer program at Brook Hill – blending all the best parts of being a summer camp counselor, tour guide, and resident assistant while meeting people from all over the world and helping them have the best summer vacation ever!

Position Details

This is a seasonal, full‑time, salaried, and in‑person position. Activity Coordinators lead students on guided tours, engage with them, lead campus activities, and assist with program logistics. Residing on campus is a requirement of the position.

Full room and board are provided for the duration of employment.

About Us

At The Brook Hill Alliance (formerly PLUS), we operate international education programs including Brook Hill Study Tours, an English language study and travel program for international high school students across North America. We are dedicated to creating vibrant, inclusive, and safe opportunities for students to grow academically, culturally, and personally.

Time Commitment
  • Employment period ranges from 2 to 8 weeks during summer (mid‑June to early August), typically 4–6 weeks.
  • Irregular and significant working hours, including nights and weekends. No vacation time during employment.
  • One full day off per calendar week.
  • Approximately 8 hours of paid online training before arrival.
Travel
  • Regional travel required; all work‑related travel covered by Brook Hill.
  • Residential employees cover travel to/from campus.
Compensation
  • Wages $1,320–$1,360 per week.
  • Housing and meals (full board) for the duration.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Standard Expectations:
    • Interact with participants professionally and enthusiastically.
    • Ensure safety and emergency preparedness.
    • Communicate policies clearly and respectfully.
    • Maintain discretion with sensitive information.
    • Assist as assigned.
  • Off‑Campus Activities (Excursions):
    • Lead student and chaperone tours of local sights.
    • Deliver contextual information.
    • Ensure safety on site and during transit.
    • Coordinate logistics with drivers, hotels, etc.
    • Provide entertainment and respond to emergencies.
  • On‑Campus

    Activities:
    • Organize and deliver orientation, talent shows, graduation ceremonies.
    • Plan and supervise recreational and sporting events.
  • Student Engagement & Wellbeing:
    • Interact with students and chaperones daily.
    • Encourage English conversation practice.
    • Facilitate evening activities and supervise residence halls.
    • Participate in night duty on rotating basis.
  • Office, Campus & Miscellaneous:
    • Attend staff meetings daily.
    • Assist with check‑in/check‑out and administrative tasks.
    • Create social media content.
    • Track expenses and provide guidance.
Qualifications and Desired Skills
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Customer service experience strongly preferred.
  • Summer camp or minors experience strongly preferred.
  • International experience preferred.
  • Athletic, musical, theatrical or artistic talent preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting 25 lbs.
  • Standing, walking up stairs, stretching, and bending required.
