Position Summary

The Demand Planning Manager develops statistical forecasts in Demantra for products, channels, and customers assigned, working with SBUs to create consensus demand plans incorporating factors like distribution changes, promotions, pricing, customer projections, trends, and historical data. These enable robust 18‑24 month rolling forecasts to support business decisions.

Demand Planning serves as a strategic partner, driving growth and resilience through data‑driven insights, proactive planning, and cross‑functional collaboration. The goal is to provide actionable forecasts that balance supply chain efficiency, inventory, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demand Planning
    • Deliver best estimated unconstrained consensus 18‑ to 24‑month rolling demand forecasts at SKU/customer level to enable business decisions.
    • Create, own and maintain statistical forecasts within Demantra for assigned products and customers. Track forecast performance, run simulations, review inputs, manage methods and flags, and raise concerns to resolve model issues.
    • Apply demand planning best practices, implement exception‑based planning, conduct analysis on forecast streams, and improve accuracy with action plans.
    • Collaborate with SBUs to review assumptions, opportunities and risks; validate change assumptions before adjusting baseline forecasts (distribution changes, pricing, promotions, etc.).
    • Use external data, e.g., customer forecasts or Circanda data, to validate demand trends.
    • Communicate forecasting and demand planning policies to cross‑functional teams.
    • Quantify & report forecast accuracy at item/channel, item/customer, and item/DC levels for statistical, sales, customer, and consensus forecasts to improve planning and safety stock levels.
    • Work with Supply Planning to align demand and supply, meet Forecasting Accuracy and Fill Rate KPIs.
  • S&OP
    • Conduct monthly pre‑demand meetings with sales and category teams for assigned channels and customers to establish plans, assign actions, and evaluate opportunities and risks at customer level.
    • Collaborate with the CPG demand planning manager to organize monthly demand reviews, achieving consensus on a 12–18 month category‑level plan.
    • Support SCM by providing best estimate unconstrained 18‑month demand forecast at DC level with assumptions, opportunities, promotions, and launch outlooks.
    • Support S&OE with weekly exception reviews, insights or actions.
    • Participate in S&OP processes defined in RACI and meeting structures.
    • Coordinate with supply chain, technology vendors and consultants to leverage JDE and Demand Planning systems.
  • Analytics, Automation & Continuous Improvement
    • Organize statistical, marketing, and sales forecasts and related analyses for S&OP discussions.
    • Continuously enhance operational efficiency and advance reporting, analytics, and automated presentations.
    • Provide sales team with customer‑level baseline, analysis and reports for review.
    • Support RGM, TPM/TPO initiatives integrating promotion data into Demantra.
    • Stay current on supply chain and demand planning best practices.
    • Maintain forecasting tools and systems (Demantra, Power

      BI, Excel).
  • Forecasting “Demantra” System
    • Drive continuous improvements and enhancements.
    • Lead data accuracy analyses and advocate data integrity for optimal models.
    • Maintain in‑depth knowledge of Demantra capabilities and be the subject‑matter expert.
    • Facilitate & document monthly meetings: minutes, consensus agreements, follow‑ups.
    • Ensure forecast metrics are monitored and reported.
  • Analytics
    • Apply statistical models to forecast demand.
    • Translate raw data into actionable insights, identifying sales patterns.
    • Use advanced Excel features, pivot tables, data visualizations.
    • Evaluate impacts of promotions or market changes.
    • Track forecast accuracy, bias, and service levels.
