SENIOR KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER – Pet Specialty

Inaba Foods (USA) Inc. is seeking a Senior Key Account Manager to drive strategic growth and manage high‑value relationships with national and regional retailers, as well as distributors within the pet specialty category. This role requires a proven leader with a deep understanding of account management, strong business acumen, and the ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue and market share.

This is an office‑based position in Torrance, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage key account relationships at a senior level, ensuring long-term partnerships and revenue growth.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand distribution and increase sales volumes across key accounts.
  • Conduct high‑level negotiations on pricing, promotions, credit terms, and contract agreements.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee forecasting, sales projections, and inventory planning to ensure product availability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing, operations, and executive leadership to align strategies and ensure brand positioning.
  • Drive customer engagement through regular business reviews, performance presentations, and strategic planning meetings.
  • Resolve complex customer issues, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and brand loyalty.
  • Act as a mentor and leader within the sales team, providing guidance and support to junior account managers.
  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5‑7 years of experience in key account management within the pet food industry working with Pet Specialty stores at a Headquarter level.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in growing national and regional accounts.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to leverage data for decision‑making.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Experience managing multi‑million‑dollar accounts and achieving revenue targets.
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
  • This is an in‑office position; however, willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients and attend industry events is required.
  • Must hold an unrestricted driver’s license with a strong driving record.
