Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite

A Brief OverviewAt the front line of the Safelite experience, the Auto Glass Technician leverages training and industry‑leading tools to complete repairs, replacements, and recalibrations in the shop and on‑the‑go with our Mobile Glass Shop.
What you will do- Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop efficiently, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service. Clean customer vehicles after every job.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and complete diagnostic testing.
- Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals per the “Safelite Way of Fitting,” work order and customer administration systems, and handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
- Communicate with scheduled customers in‑person, via text, and phone, present, promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour, increasing to $24/hour after training and certification.
- Earn $5 per set of wiper blades when added for customer safety.
- Technician career levels based on performance metrics showing efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license and any other license(s) required by law to operate a company vehicle (required).
- Safelite Safe Tech™ certification (required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older (required).
- Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in compliance with all laws and acceptance of monitoring via in‑cab camera/video surveillance.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.
- Ability to safely work outside in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
- Ability to work with chemicals, including flammable ones, as applicable per the “Safelite Way of Fitting.”
- Flexible schedule, able to adjust start and end times to accommodate customers.
- Proficiency in computerized diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
- Problem‑solving skills, ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
- Reading, writing, and interpreting English and technical directions.
- Oral and written communication via phone or computer.
- Maintain professional appearance, adhere to uniform and PPE policies.
- Willingness to maintain stable performance under pressure.
This position involves driving duties monitored by cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
