Summary/Objective:

Automotive Technician A is a master/senior technician that is an expert in all systems, leadership, and customer interaction. Highly proficient in diagnosing and repairing the most complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Highly proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and troubleshooting all major vehicle systems, including hybrid and electrical vehicles.
  • Expert use of all diagnostic and repair tools and equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the latest automotive technologies.
  • Leadership abilities, capable of mentoring other technicians and providing expert advice to service advisors.
  • Excellent customer communication skills, able to explain technical issues in a way that customers can understand.
  • Maintains dealership records that are legible and accurate that reflect the work performed.
  • Tests the functionality of parts and systems
  • Helps keep repair shop clean and organized.
  • Keeps a professional appearance.
  • Adheres to all company policy and procedures.
  • Leading teams and supervising the work of lower-level technicians (i.e. serves as Journey Worker supporting the GRAP apprenticeships)
  • May perform duties as a Shop Foreman when needed.

    Qualifications:

  • More than 5 years of experience with advanced certifications or manufacture specific training.
  • Able to anticipate and understand customers’ needs and provide viable solutions.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication expertise.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently.
  • Valid Driver’s License

    • Education and Experience:

  • HS diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Degree in Automotive repair or minimum of one to three years of progressive experience.
  • Willing to obtain on the job training and certifications as needed.
  • At least 4 years of Automotive Apprenticeship experience preferred.
  • Valid in-state driver's license required.
