Job OverviewUnder the direction of the Interim Assistant Director of Editorial and External Affairs, the Communications Specialist will be responsible for a broad range of communications and marketing activities, including social media and photography with an emphasis on supporting the creation and distribution of content across multiple platforms (web, email, text, social, etc.) that supports the recruitment, retention and success of students and elevates CSUSM’s profile.

Communications Specialist (Marketing and Communications Professional I). This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule- Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,570 per month (step
1) - CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,570 – $6,658 per month
- Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave, and 15 paid holidays (14 scheduled + a Personal Holiday).
- Hybrid work schedule eligible.
