Administrative Assistant

Overview

Under supervision of the program director, the Administrative Assistant will help manage and coordinate the different activities of the UCR/City of Hope Cancer Research and Education (UCR/CoH-CARE) Partnership program that is funded by a grant from the NIH National Cancer Institute (NCI). This is a part-time (20 hours per week) position. The full salary range for the Administrative Assistant 2 is $25.38 - $35.97 per hour.

However, the expected pay for this position is $25.38 - $30.13 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to work as a team player and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Skill in independently researching questions and making appropriate contacts when problem solving.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to compose business correspondence, edit and use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Skill in communicating effectively and professionally using tact and diplomacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of managing large datasets using spreadsheets and other web tools (e.g., REDCap).
• Management skills to plan, coordinate, and direct numerous complex activities.
• Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to grant management and procedural practices, general accounting practices, travel and entertainment reimbursement.
• Knowledge (or interest in learning) Web page development and maintenance.
