The California Police Chiefs Association is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accreditation Coordinator to support the California Accreditation Program for Public Safety (CAPS). This position provides administrative, coordination, and logistical support to ensure the smooth operation of the accreditation program. The role works closely with the Executive Director and Accreditation Specialist and serves as a key point of support for participating agencies and assessors.
This position is primarily administrative in nature and does not serve as the program lead or decision maker.
Salary Range: $45,000 to $50,000 annually
Status: Full-time
Location: Remote in California
Key Responsibilities & Roles- Provide administrative support for accreditation systems, including Power
DMS and Power Accred - Assist with application intake, document organization, and completeness reviews
- Track accreditation deadlines, milestones, and participation data Maintain accurate records for agencies, assessors, and program activities
- Support routine communications with participating agencies and direct complex issues as appropriate
- Assist with onboarding logistics for new agencies
- Coordinate assessor records, scheduling, training logistics, and reimbursement tracking
- Support commission and committee meetings, including agendas, materials, note-taking, and follow-up
- Assist with basic reporting, website updates, and shared resources
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
- Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. A typical way to obtain the necessary qualifications includes:
- Relevant experience in administrative support, program coordination, or a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit, public safety, or governmental environment
- Coursework or training in criminal justice, public administration, business administration, or a related field is helpful but not required
- Experience supporting programs involving documentation management, data tracking, scheduling, and stakeholder communications is desirable
Additionally, the candidate should also possess;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and related office systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Limited travel required
