Office Technician Typing job at Centinela State Prison, Imperial County, CA.

Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Principal or his/her designee, the Office Technician (OT) provides clerical support to the Principal, Vice Principal and other education staff. The OT processes, stores, and retrieves information utilizing word processing, database, and spreadsheet computer applications.

To meet the criteria for monthly Incarcerated person, Pay, the OT must supervise a minimum of 2 incarcerated workers, who substantially replace civil service employees for a combined total of at least 120 hours per month. The OT must attach a letter to the monthly CDCR 998-A, Employee Attendance Record, certified by a supervisor indicating that the criteria were met, allowing the Personnel Office to proceed with the monthly Incarcerated person Pay.

CDCR 998-A’s submitted without the required certification will result in discontinuation of the incentive. Employees receiving Incarcerated person Pay are responsible for retention of incarcerated worker timesheets at each worksite. When incarcerated people are unassigned, it is the OT's responsibility to contact the Incarcerated Person Assignments Office to have workers assigned to meet the criteria. If the criteria is not met, the OT is not entitled to receive Incarcerated person Pay and must notify the Personnel Office immediately.

In order to reinstate the Incarcerated person Pay, the OT must notify the Personnel Office as soon as the criteria is met.

This is a 12 month Limited Term position that may be extended to 24 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.
