Under the general supervision of the Director of Parking & Transportation Services, the Parking Coordinator independently manages day‑to‑day operational, financial and administrative functions for campus parking services. The position oversees student enforcement staff, coordinates permit and citation operations, manages event parking logistics, and provides customer service to faculty, staff, students and visitors. The incumbent ensures compliance with CSU and state regulations, serves as a liaison to external agencies, and contributes to budgetary and program planning to support the efficient operation of Parking & Transportation Services.

- Manage daily parking operations, including inquiries, permits, citations, billing, and reconciliations.
- Oversee permit issuance and reconciliation across online and retail channels.
- Administer citation processing, reviews, hearings and collections in accordance with CSU policy and the California Vehicle Code.
- Coordinate event and departmental parking, ensuring signage, staffing and compliance with policies.
- Maintain parking technology and equipment; coordinate repairs, vendor communication and preventive maintenance.
- Serve as liaison with Parking Management Bureau and Chancellor’s Office on enforcement, reporting and annual inventory.
- Maintain the Parking & Transportation website and update campus parking regulations and information.
- Prepare financial reports, deposits, invoices and collection activities for permits and citations.
- Conduct parking surveys, analyze data and provide recommendations for policy or operational improvements.
- Recruit, hire, train and provide lead work direction to 12–15 student assistants (and 1–2 student leads).
- Develop and maintain training programs, manuals and procedures.
- Schedule and evaluate student staff and share feedback with the appropriate administrator to ensure consistent enforcement and customer service.
- Provide direction and oversight for event parking operations and limited field enforcement as needed.
- Respond to escalated customer inquiries regarding permits, citations and parking policies.
- Coordinate with campus departments, committees and external groups to ensure adequate parking for events and daily operations.
- Foster positive campus and community relations regarding parking services.
- Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the Clery Act, reporting allegations of crimes to University Police and completing required training.
- Assist with budget planning, reporting and operational assessments.
- A fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices.
- An ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation and ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic.
- Ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages.
- These minimum qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
