. The Office of Supervisor Sylvia Arenas is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant position. The position serves as administrative personnel in support of an elected official and will coordinate administrative and general office efforts for the District 1 office. Education and/or experience in Administration and Communications is highly desirable. Strong writing skills, communication skills, and computer proficiency with a firm grasp of professionalism, customer service, and organization are essential.

Ability to develop and maintain effective relations with constituents and organizations with a positive and professional demeanor is required. Bilingual language skills (Vietnamese, Spanish, and/or Chinese) are desirable but not required.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of an evaluation of the applicant’s training and experience based on the application and responses to the job‑specific questions. Salary Range

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The County offers medical, dental, and vision benefits. Retirement benefits are provided through CalPERS. Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave are also included.

Responsibilities for the position may include, but are not limited to the following:

Employment Standards
  • Education and Experience:

    Completion of an Associate’s Degree or completion of the Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence credential.
  • Required Licensing:
    Possession of a valid California Driver’s license is required.
