Position Summary

The Payment Posting Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely posting of payments, adjustments, and charges received daily. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Professionalism, confidentiality, and strong communication skills are essential to success.

What You’ll Do
  • Accurately post transactions (payments and adjustments) from Electronic Remittances, paper checks, EOBs, and Patient Portals.
  • Follow the department’s payment reconciliation process with precision.
  • Prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency and turnaround time.
  • Meet or exceed daily productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Maintain error rates in alignment with department expectations.
  • Respond to internal and external calls and emails promptly and professionally.
  • Support administrative tasks and assist team members as needed.
Experience
  • 2+ years of medical billing or payment posting experience.
  • Strong ability to interpret EOBs and EOPs from major payors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
  • Proficiency in basic Excel functions.
  • Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping processes.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
