As a Financial Accountant, you will play a central role in strengthening the quality, reliability, and consistency of our financial data. You will join the BNLX Financial Accounting team in our Rotterdam office, responsible for the accounting of 11 entities across The Netherlands and Belgium. These entities operate in a dynamic environment that includes (renewable) commodity trading activities, hedge accounting, derivatives, and IFRS 16.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Rotterdam (Business Control, Risk, Front and Back Office), as well as with our teams in Hamburg (Germany) and Baar (Switzerland). Your work will directly contribute to building a robust and future-proof accounting organisation within the Benelux region.

• Ensure accurate and timely accounting for approximately 11 Benelux entities;
• Execute monthly internal controls in line with our Internal Control Framework;
• Strengthen and continuously improve accounting processes, systems, and data flows;
• Ensure results are accurately captured in our ledgers during closing cycles;
• Keep our accounting systems clean, consistent, and fully audit‑ready;
• Participate in our monthly accounting and reporting cycle;
• Contribute to the development of a dynamic and scalable accounting organization;
• Analyze accounting issues, propose improvements, and support implementation of new processes or system improvements;
• Work closely with Business Control, Risk, and operational teams, to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational support.

• 3+ years of hands‑on financial accounting experience;
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field;
• Experience in financial accounting, month‑end closings, and audit processes, preferably in an international or multi‑entity environment;
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Dutch is a plus;
• Skilled at building strong relationships across all levels of the business and collaborating effectively across teams and locations;
• Thrives in a fast‑moving environment and stays sharp, positive, and flexible as priorities shift;
• A clear and trusted communicator with a pragmatic, hands‑on mindset; someone who doesn't hesitate to step in and get things done;
• Brings initiative, accuracy, and structure to every task while maintaining clear oversight.
