Staff Accountant

A well-established professional services firm is seeking a Financial Analyst / Staff Accountant on a temp-to-hire basis to support corporate accounting operations. This role is fully on-site in the Los Angeles area and reports directly to the Accounting Manager.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong Excel skills, prior ERP experience, and a customer service-oriented demeanor. Candidates with experience in project-based or creative industries are highly encouraged to apply.

• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal accounting policies

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and variance analyses
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support management and operations

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Review vendor invoices, expense reports, and credit card activity
• Support billing, revenue tracking, and project-related financial reporting
• Work within an ERP system to maintain accurate financial data
• Utilize Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and analysis
• Partner with internal teams and external vendors in a professional, service-oriented manner
• Assist with audits, process improvements, and special projects as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-5+ years of experience in staff accounting, financial analysis, or a hybrid role
• Strong Excel skills required (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, reporting)
• Prior ERP system experience required (Net Suite, Quick Books, Sage, Oracle, or similar)
• Solid understanding of corporate accounting and general ledger functions
• Experience in project-based, creative, or professional services environments strongly preferred
