Accounting Manager

Our client, a premier full-service construction and development company based in Southern California, is seeking an Accounting Manager.

The Accounting Manager will serve as the company’s lead accounting professional. This is a newly created, full-time role for an individual who is strong technically, understands how accounting flows through financial statements, and can manage accounting operations independently. You will be a key member of the organization, responsible for the accounting needs of multiple entities.

• Own and manage full cycle accounting for multiple entities
• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flows)
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accounting integrity
• Coordinate accounting with the Project Accountant to support project reporting
• Work with external accountants and tax professionals for tax filings
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation
• Provide financial insight to leadership and help translate accounting results into business context
• Drive improvements in accounting processes and controls

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting fundamentals
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of accounting functions
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Excel and general accounting software

Preferred:

• Construction industry accounting experience a plus
• Experience handling multiple entities’ accounting
• Familiarity with project cost accounting
