Overview
An established accounting firm in Culver City is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a client-facing environment and has strong full-cycle bookkeeping experience. The Senior Bookkeeper will manage multiple client accounts, prepare accurate financials, and support month-end and year-end close processes.
ResponsibilitiesManage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries
Maintain general ledger accuracy, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Perform bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Prepare and post accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation entries
Ensure financials are tax-ready and support CPAs during tax season
Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations as needed
Prepare and file 1099s and assist with compliance-related reporting
Communicate directly with clients to resolve discrepancies and answer accounting questions
Maintain organized and well-documented client files
Support process improvements and best practices within the firm
5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within an accounting firm or professional services environment
Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles
Proficiency with accounting software such as Quick Books Online (QBO); experience with other systems is a plus
Advanced knowledge of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables preferred)
Experience managing multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience in a public accounting or outsourced accounting firm
Payroll and multi-state payroll exposure
Experience preparing tax-ready financials
Familiarity with document management and workflow tools
